Decoupling of spatial object investments with their resources

Current version of the model allow modellers to specify ONE spatial object that can be present on the plot for allow a certain production activity. The production activity is strictly build with the object, and no scale efects are possible on spatial objects. This feature will allow spatial objects to be more homogeneous with normal spatially implicit objects. They are no longer associated with their activity, and will provide a resource, this one now with spatial attributes.

The matrix will become like:

Resources Prod. activity 1
on plot1
Prod. activity 1
on plot2
Prod. activity 1
on plot3
Prod. activity 2
on plot1
Prod. activity 2
on plot2
Prod. activity 2
on plot3
Prod. activity 3
on plot3
Inv. activity 3
on plot3
Used recourses Available resources
Gross margin 300 295 305 60 58 62 320 -50
Plot1 1 1 0 1
Plot2 1 1 0 1
Plot3 1 1 1 0 1
Res_of_inv3_on_plot3 5 -10
Other resources
Quantities 0 0 0 0 0 0 0

Like now, it will be the model to decide witch spatial activities and witch spatial investment options place in the matrix according the plots owned by the farmer and their land-use.

Pros

  • Objects can be entered decoupled from production activity (so, just as costs)
  • Activities can implicitly require the presence of different spatial objects and different quantities
  • Scale effects with spatial objects become possible

Downsides

  • Few resources are added to the matrix, that will slightly increase in the non-zero space.
